USA DANCE #6047-Martin-St.Lucie Chapter (Founded Dec. 1996)

We are a local chapter of the USA Dance organization which nationally has 174 chapters throughout the country with 23,000 members and an outreach of 200,000 dancers.

A 501c3 non-profit entity, the overall mission of USA Dance, Martin-St. Lucie Chapter, is to divulge and disseminate the art and sport of ballroom dancing within our area.

We encourage and support exhibition dancing by chapter member volunteers for special events in our community as part of our outreach to the public, schools, Senior living facilities and Special Olympics and are actively and monetarily supporting ballroom dance for young ballroom dance competitors.

At the present time, our membership of about 100, is made up of folks of all ages, backgrounds and ethnicities. We are all there to have a good time dancing and to improve our skills in a wholesome, non-smoking environment. We often have a dance lesson or showcase during the dance which is a mix of music by a DJ or a live band on special occasions. We love to have beginners, and spend time with each to make them feel welcome and help them get started learning ballroom and Latin dances.

Chapter dances are hosted at the Jensen Beach Ballroom, 881 NE Jensen Beach Boulevard, Jensen Beach, FL 34957, not only for chapter members but is also open to the public and are presently held on the first Friday from 7-10 pm and on the third Sunday from 3-6 pm of every month. We also have other dances on special holidays and sometimes with event themes such as a Western attire or Red and White on Valentine's Day. Usual attire is dressy/casual.

The annual membership fee to join USA dance is a mere $35 for social dancers which includes a free subscription of "American Dancer", a magazine published by our national organization, with news and upcoming events such as dance cruises and workshops as well as articles pertinent to the world of ballroom dance.

Becoming a member also entitles you to discounts at not only our chapter dances but also chapter dances anywhere in the country. The entrance fee to our chapter dances is $8 for members and $11 for future members. When someone becomes a member of our chapter, their first dance is free.

We have all found that dancing has become a significant and pleasurable part of our lives that provides fun and camaraderie and hope you will take the time to explore what a difference ballroom and Latin dancing can make in your lives and visit us soon.
